About Us

In recent years, our research has centered on language-related challenges, particularly in computing and literacy. We emphasize the importance of staying connected to one’s roots by fostering literacy in the mother tongue. Reading and writing in one’s native language strengthen cultural identity and community bonds. Moreover, generating economic value through language ensures its longevity and relevance.

Kothai began as an experimentation space focused on language technology and tools/ solutions for language learning. Our work revolves around developing tools and technologies that enhance language learning, making it easier for everyone to read, write, and engage with their mother tongue or learn a new language.

Currently, our solutions focus on the Tamil language, and we will gradually expand to other regional languages. Through the Kothai ecosystem, we aim to build innovative, engaging, and fun tools that make learning and using (Tamil) intuitive, interactive, and joyful.
