Come, Let’s Play with Tamil: A Parent–Child Thoodhu Experience at VIBGYOR SPACE

Come, Let’s Play with Tamil: A Parent–Child Thoodhu Experience at VIBGYOR SPACE

Language is more than words.

It carries stories, memories, humour, culture and the way we understand the world around us. For children, learning a language is not only about reading and writing. It is about experiencing it, using it, enjoying it and making it their own.

This is one of the ideas that led to Kothai.

Why Kothai?

At Kothai, we believe that language learning doesn't always have to happen inside a classroom.

A child can learn a new word while playing a game.
They can discover the meaning of a Tamil word while solving a puzzle.
They can remember a letter because they had fun using it and writing it.

When learning becomes an experience, it becomes something children want to come back to.

Tamil, with its rich vocabulary, sounds and expressions, offers so many possibilities for this kind of joyful learning. We want to create ways for children to play and connect with Tamil not simply study it.

And that's where our games come in.

Bringing Tamil into Play

Our games are designed around a simple idea: learning can happen naturally when we play.

Through Kothai's games, children get opportunities to listen, think, communicate, discover words and interact with Tamil in ways that feel engaging rather than instructional.

One such game is Thoodhu.

Thoodhu brings people together through clues, communication and wordplay. It creates moments where players have to think differently, understand one another and use language creatively.

And perhaps the best part?

Parents can play too.

A Parent + Child Experience

We are excited to bring Thoodhu to VIBGYOR SPACE, Anna Nagar, for a special Parent + Child Game Experience.

This is not a Tamil class.

It is not a lecture.

It is an opportunity for parents and children to sit together, play together, laugh together and experience Tamil together.

The session will begin with an introduction to Thoodhu, followed by a guided Learn & Play session where participants can understand the game and get comfortable with the gameplay.

And then comes the fun part, the Thoodhu Championship.

Teams will put their newly discovered skills to the test, compete, collaborate and experience the excitement of playing Thoodhu together.

Why Parents Should Join

For many parents, one of the challenges of helping children connect with Tamil is finding ways to make the language part of everyday life.

A game can be a simple starting point.

Instead of saying “Let's learn some Tamil,” imagine saying:

“வாங்க, தமிழோடு விளையாடலாம்!”

That small shift from learning as a task to learning as an experience can change the way children engage with the language.

And when parents participate, it becomes a shared experience rather than something children are expected to do on their own.

Come Experience Tamil with Joy

At Kothai, our larger hope is to create a space where language, culture, creativity and play come together.

We want children to grow up seeing Tamil not as something they have to learn, but as something they can enjoy, explore and connect with.

So, this October, come join us at VIBGYOR SPACE with your child.

Play. Learn. Laugh. Connect.

And most importantly

தமிழோடு விளையாடலாம் வாங்க!
